旧）町の名前をひとつ

Hi! Sakai-sensei.
It's been long since I went to Sakai-sensei's lab.
I alway would like to go there, but I didn't have any chance for months. I miss the place and friends.

I happened to read your blog today (sorry, I rarely check ...)
and noticed written "Does someone know Charlaine Harris?" or like that. I know Charlaine Harris!! So I thought I have to send this e-mail.

She is the author of Sookie Stackhouse Series. My favorite :)
The series is being made into the drama (Season2 had been already broadcasted by CATV last summer) whose title is True Blood. This is the love story between human and vampire, but not so romantic, because it features a lot of scary elements in human ... prejudice, discrimination, alcohol abuse, cult religion, overwhelming love which parents has for their child, etc.
When I watch this drama, I often feel human is more scary than vampire. Anyway, this is one of the fun vampire story, especially for adults. Please check or recommend it if you may.

By the way, I started to read the book "Steve Jobs" released a few days ago.
Even though I have finished to read only three chapters,
I think it's very fascinating book. Very fun. This is also my recommendation.

Recently I feel I want to get the same English skill as people graduate from overseas university. It's far from my condition, I think. But I also think I'm not so bad because now I can read the book "Steve Jobs" and some technical books relevant to IT or electronics.
So I am getting confidence now.
At least, my skill is modest but adequate for my reading life.
(only exception is my very best favorite, Sci-Fi. I can't read most Sci-Fi books yet.)

I still use strange English a lot. But I'm sure soon I can improve.
I feel I am progressing everyday :D

英語でメールを書いたのは、読む能力以外の英語力を使う場がほとんどないので練習したかったのと、どれくらい書けるようになったのか
（まだこん（このあと文字化け）毎日毎日「仕事に行きたくない～。早く週末が来ないかな。」しか頭にありませんが英語や読書という楽しみを糧になんとか頑張ってます。

そろそろ寝ないと本当にまずいので、最後は日本語になってしまいました。(笑)

卒業研究で苦しんでいるときからときどき突如として日本語の小説を英訳しはじめたりしていましたが、その頃に比べてずいぶん言葉の彩りが増しました。村のこんやく屋さんにもさんかして、一緒に翻訳のことを考えていきたいですね。

とはいえ何よりも、これから英語をつきあっていく上での自信というか、見通しというか、
自分自身を支える物が見つかったらしいことにわたしはとても喜んでいます。
この人は多読を通して未来が見えてきた人の一人だと思っています。
