I enjoyed this very much - it is the first book I have read in Japanese (albeit very very slowly!). I love plants and have been able to read further about the cultural significance of the ones illustrated here, which has been fascinating. This book has been perfect for me as plant-loving adult Japanese learner - so much better than trying to read something aimed at a child. Thank you for making it freely available, along with the audio.

I really like the style of this book, every section has a specific plant, and seasons and colors to go with it. The book introduces some kanji based on those colors and seasons, alongside hiragana pronunciations. I think this is a really good book for you to get used to seeing some kanji of common things. The photographs are also really pretty.
